Hyperhidrosis is a disorder produced by an alteration of the vegetative nervous system that causes the production of more sweat than necessary to regulate our body temperature. This disorder usually manifests itself in the armpits, palms of the hands, soles of the feet and forehead. The only non-surgical alternative is botulinum toxin. It interrupts the alteration of the sweat gland by stopping the release of acetylcholine. The product is infiltrated into the affected area, blocking the sympathetic nerve endings responsible for stimulating the sweat glands.
